Andrés Di Lorenzi wins Best Poster Award at CIGR–EurAgEng World Congress 2026
adminThe outstanding contribution of the next generation of agricultural and biosystems engineers was recognised at the CIGR–EurAgEng World Congress 2026, with Andrés Di Lorenzi from the National Institute of Agricultural Research (INIA Uruguay) receiving the Best Poster Award.
The award, presented in partnership with the EurAgEng Young Professional Network (YPN), celebrates excellence in research communication and highlights the innovative work being undertaken by early-career researchers across the global agricultural engineering community.
Di Lorenzi received the award for his poster entitled:
“Netting-induced Microclimate Modification Enhances Water Productivity in Citrus Orchards under Temperate Conditions.”
The research explores how protective netting systems can influence orchard microclimates and improve water productivity in citrus production under temperate growing conditions. The work reflects the increasingly important role of biosystems engineering in addressing challenges around resource efficiency, climate resilience and sustainable food production.
The Best Poster Award provides a platform to showcase emerging research and encourages young engineers and scientists to share their work with an international audience of academics, industry representatives and professional engineers.
The award was presented during the CIGR–EurAgEng World Congress 2026 in Torino, Italy, which brought together researchers, innovators and professionals from across the world to explore the theme of emerging technologies and innovation in biosystems engineering.
