EurAgEng makes distinct awards, with both the Award of Merit and the Recognition Award.

EurAgEng Award of Merit - Scientific Understanding

This award will be made at the CIGR EurAgEng World Congress 2026 in Torino, Italy in June.

The award is given to an individual for their major international contribution to the advancement of scientific understanding in engineering and related science for the benefit of agriculture, environment, industry and/or the rural sector in Europe. It is expected that the winner will, in general:

be a leading scientist with a strong publication or patent record,

have a clear understanding of the scientific challenges facing farming, the rural environment and/or associated industry

have made a major contribution to scientific or engineering innovation that has been recognised internationally.

The award is given biennially at the EurAgEng Conference, this year in Torino, Italy in June 2026.

The EurAgEng Recognition Award

The award acknowledges personalities who represent the European idea of EurAgEng in a special way and promote it to the professional public.

EurAgEng owes a huge debt of gratitude to the many people who have given time, energy, and enthusiasm to the Society in many different ways.

The award is next given at the CIGR EurAgEng World Congress 2026 in Torino, Italy in June.

The EurAgEng Award of Merit- Innovation into Practice 

The award will, in general, be made to a leading light in the industry.  The winner will have made an outstanding contribution to commercial practice and to engineering innovation that has been widely recognised through new products or by governmental and other organisations, for the benefit of agriculture, environment, industry and/or the rural sector in Europe.

This award will next be made at the VDI Land.Technik Conference in Hannover in 2027.
