2026 Pellizzi Prize - International best PhD on Agricultural Machinery and Mechanization
The Giuseppe Pellizzi Prize is a prestigious international award promoted by the Club of Bologna in collaboration with the Accademia dei Georgofili. Established to honour the legacy of Professor Giuseppe Pellizzi, founder of the Club, the prize aims to encourage excellence and innovation among young researchers in the field of agricultural machinery and mechanization.
Awarded every two years in conjunction with EIMA International in Bologna, the prize recognises the best PhD theses worldwide addressing key topics such as tractors and engines, agricultural machinery and mechanization, components and materials, and automation and electronics. (clubofbologna.org)
Candidates must have recently completed a doctoral thesis in these areas and be nominated by a full member of the Club of Bologna. Submissions are evaluated by an international committee, which selects the top three theses based on scientific quality, originality, and relevance to the advancement of agricultural engineering. The three winners receive monetary prizes and are invited to present their research during the official award ceremony held at the Club of Bologna meeting. In addition, they are offered the opportunity to participate in Club activities for a period of five years, providing valuable exposure to a global network of experts, industry representatives, and policymakers.
A distinctive feature of the prize is its commitment to inclusivity, with one award reserved for candidates from low-income countries, reinforcing its global perspective and support for emerging talent.
Overall, the Giuseppe Pellizzi Prize represents a unique platform for early-career researchers to showcase their work, contribute to technological progress in agricultural mechanization, and engage with an international community dedicated to sustainable and innovative farming systems.
